Sandi

Biography

Working from her studio in Saugatuck, Michigan, Sandra derives her inspiration from nature. Be it the gardens that surround her studio or the lake shore, each season brings its own voice to her works. She describes her style as a combination of Impressionism and contemporary art.

A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, she is a recipient of the Columbia College Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award. In addition, she has studied at the Mexican Printmakers in Chicago, the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative, the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as at their Oxbow campus, and most recently in Italy.

"Growing up in Chicago, I was mesmerized by the works of the masters in the galleries of the Art Institute. I knew at an early age the world of art would encompass me for a lifetime."

Her monotype, June Morning, is a part of the permanent collection at Crete Library, Crete, Illinois.

Sandra's work can be seen in print as cover art for Skylark Literary Magazine produced by Purdue University. This cover, along with her biography, was featured in the Poet's Market.
